Each employee has some type of employment contract. Whether or not you have actually signed anything, by agreeing to work for someone else you have entered a common law contract. If you feel that your job position is not what you and your employer discussed, you need to speak out and seek advice. Do not be afraid to question your employment contract with your employer to ensure you are getting what you’re entitled to.
In saying that, you should have your own copy of your contract of employment and Job Description Form (if one exists). If you have signed a Workplace Agreement you should also have a copy. Copies of your Award and Enterprise Agreement are available from your employer.
If you have an enquiry about your Award or Agreement we encourage you to talk to your workplace delegate. Other information such as the Code of Ethics should be available by request in your workplace. Again we encourage you to contact your Workplace Delegate for advice.
