Each individual is different and it’s essential that you discover what YOU want to do with your life. Are you looking for casual work, part-time, full-time or perhaps an apprenticeship? What are you interested in? What do you aspire to be in the future? Which locations best suit you? You must ask yourself all these questions before applying for job positions, to ensure a successful career that’s right for you.
It is always an excellent idea to jot some of your experiences onto a piece of paper. Remember, the employer is thinking “Why should I speak with this person, how is she/he different from all the other applicants?” Don’t believe you sufficient experience? Then think again. Brainstorm and think about the following -
- Education
- Activities
- Interests
- Work experience
- Honours and awards
- Skills and Abilities
Once you come up with a decision then you should start focusing on bits that are significant to the job at hand. Remember a resume's purpose is to sell yourself on how well you fit a particular job. |
