Time management is the key to balancing work, studying and a social life. Often the main problem is to juggle everything at once. Know in advance your timelines and periods of greatest potential stress.
- Try making a list of things that have to be done to ensure your life runs smoothly across studying, work and free time.
- Make a second list of things which could be done, but which are not essential at the moment. However, you will be conscious to the fact that it needs to get done eventually.
- Keep a diary so you can see how many days and hours you have available to allocate between work and study.
- Make sure your familiar with your school/tertiary education calendar.
- Make sure your familiar with your work roster.
Having a positive approach can be a contributing factor to maintaining a healthy balance between tasks. A negative attitude can affect your motivation, performance and subsequently effect relationships with people around you.
